What’s Been Happening

June: the Florida Chapter called for those interested in a Leadership position to step forward and we are very grateful for all that volunteered to support the Florida Chapter in a leadership role.

July: our Education Chair Frankie Gilliland hosted a CE via zoom:  In a Nutshell: Pediatric Palliative Care

By Amanda Bashir, MD and Fawn Nieuwenhoff, MSN, APRN, CPNP of the Pediatric Palliative Care Team at John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital

If you missed it, you could still access it on our website. 1 hour of CE credit provided.

What is coming up!

The Florida Chapter is looking forward to some exciting events in the coming months!

November 2022: We will be hosting a Health Policy Information meeting

December 2022:  a DNP Presentation/Ask the Expert meeting- this meeting is to allow our graduating and/or recently graduated members to showcase their DNP projects. After all, everything starts at the community level! There will also be a Q&A session for those who are graduating to ask the Faculty Panel for advice or “how to” get started in practice. Stay tuned for more information.

March 2023: The National Convention returns to Orlando! The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners will bring all the fun, networking and education to us in March! The Rosen Shingle Creek will be hosting this premier event of the year right here in our own backyard!

Ongoing projects for the chapter include:

Education Opportunities share your knowledge! We are looking for members who would like to present a brief   but informative   1- hour CE for fellow members. This is a great opportunity to share your knowledge, gain experience in public speaking in a comfortable, supportive arena and update your colleagues. If you have a topic to present, please reach out to our education chair Frankie Gilliland at: flgill01@me.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Our Community Engagement Project, the Florida Chapter wants to do more for the local communities, where we live, work and play. To do this we are asking our members to let us know how we can help! Is there a local nonprofit for kids that shares the mission of NAPNAP that is important to you? If so, we are offering up to $250 to donate to the cause! Or are you passionate about something else that you see as a deficit in your daily practice such as Oral hygiene? Do you need help in providing education and dental hygiene kits for a class/grade/or school? Let us help. Some Boys and Girls club need help for certain projects or events, whatever your passion for fulfilling the mission of NAPNAP, let us help! Click on the link to complete an application.
