Children with persistent seizures benefit from ketogenic diet
Researchers found that a ketogenic diet helps stop persistent seizures in pediatric patients who no longer respond to medication. In a study of 104 patients, almost 40% became seizure-free for at least six months after being fed the high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet. Experts are debating whether the diet should be recommended as a first-line therapy for some patients with infantile spasms. Medscape (free registration) (5/27)
