The Center for Nursing

Please contact your representatives regarding the Center for Nursing

Several years ago, nurse leaders worked very hard to establish a workforce center that could provide valuable information about current and future needs for nurses in our state.  The Center answers questions that we were previously unable to respond to with reliable Florida specific data.  Just this past week in Tallahassee, we learned that legislators had misinformation regarding nurses' support of the Center related to the $5 fee from each nurse EVERY TWO YEARS.  This small increase would enable us to keep the Florida Center for Nursing alive and well in our state.   The closing of the Center would be a great loss, not only to nursing, but especially the citizens of our State.    The Center not only projects the numbers of nurses we will need to safely care for our citizens, but also the number of faculty we will need and other critical data that helps nursing leaders plan for the future.   The $5 is a prime example of nurses helping nursing.  Please go to Capital Wiz on the FNA website http://www.capwiz.com/fln/home/ and put in your zip code to find your legislator and tell him or her that you want to support the Center.
